Yes, Marissa Mayer is not a great example of a bad CEO. Because Yahoo was in a hell of a lot of trouble before she got there. They offered her a huge chunk of money to take over, and she would have been dumb to turn it down.

She is still very hireable in Silicon Valley. Not that she needs the money.

There are better examples of bad female tech CEOs. Mayer took over a ship that was already caught in the rocks of the shore.

If she could get Zen to ship any sooner she'd be the best CEO they've had in quite some time. Ever since the merger with ATI they've been too separated between the CPU and GPU markets so their products in both markets don't perform as well as offerings from Intel and Nvidia. I think a refocus on making high performance low price CPUs could help them regain some market share.
