My guess is someone ran it over/fucked it up with a forklift or it was hanging over the edge of a pallet and someone lowered another ballet onto it .

Use to work retail and I saw SOOO much shit.
People would literally stack CASES of paint on top of light bulbs. Id bull out packages of lights bulbs that were actually flat.
I've seem people rip half of a case of juice in half with a forklift and leave it in the pallet to rot.

Hahaha holy shit

On topic: a while back, I was replacing my motherboard. I was deinstalling my HSF and processor, but they were stuck together. Instead of gently twisting back and forth, I was pulling directly up on the HSF, and I ripped the processor right out of the socket without opening the zif lever.

I thought I fucked it permanently, but all the pins were still aligned. I put it in the new mobo and it was fine.

Bees and ants like electromagnetic fields. Its actually really common to open up a case server/communications (or even residential shit) and find it full of bees or ants.
>>
>>56765638
I've never come across bees in an electronic device. Thank god too because I'm terrified to death of bees.
>>
>>56765653
Bees are ok, aslong as you leave their computer alone..
>>
>>56765638
>Bees and ants like electromagnetic fields
Is that because electromagnetism is what they use to synchronize their souls for hivemind communication? I read about this once in a neopagan magazine, how living things are interconnected through invisible energies that make the planet into a giant brain of sorts. Kinda how dejavus are caused by earlier visions of the future through this invisible force that flows through all of us.

You're supposed to put the sticker, anywhere else. Literally anywhere other than on top of the processor.
If you have say, an Athlon 5350, you didn't fuck up much, those basically don't get hot.
If you used something like an FX8350

Shit gets broken all the time. I used to work for Fedex.
It's a total gamble whether or not you package will make it through the system unharmed. Every day I would see packages that were totally flattened or otherwise destroyed. It's a combination of unavoidable shit (heavy packages falling on lighter ones in transit) or just employees not giving a fuck and tossing boxes around.

No, no.
The dual CPU quad core G5 was absolutely top of the line in every way, no expenses spared.
And yet the PPC Macs were slow compared to x86 alternatives in what Macs were supposed to be good at.
And the liquid cooling was shit. The entire product is so big, powerhungry, overenigneered, and it's just shit in the end.

It was struck by lightning.

The top of a 2m antenna connected on the left of the device was shot into the air and travelled around 20m.

So I suspect that the lightning hit it from that Ethernet port (it was using PoE) and somehow travelled to the antenna to melt a part of it and shot the very top.

>>
>>56769462
how do you know what cable goes with what?
>>
>>56767286
>prototyping?

Well it would be a shit prototype. The length of wires would need to be closely controlled so it would be impedance matched, see impedance matching if you want to know more. Otherwise the signal from the CPU to the bridge, ram, etc would be fucked and out of sync.
>>
>>56770400
See my previous post >>56770386

You clip a device on one end that makes a distinct signal, and then you have a wand with a speaker that can pick up the signal.
Touch the wand to the cable to find out which cable you attached the toner to.

It's enough work for 2 or 3 cables, it would probably take at least 30-40 min depending on the setup for that mess, just to label the cables.

I'm in a comfortable enough position myself being a junior manager in a big modern warehouse, but we generally can't pay a living wage to those who do the more simple tasks. We're trained to distinguish logistical hurdles from human ones. This clearly isn't a logistical one, people simply don't think delivery should cost that much, or anything at all. I blame UPS.

If you want your packages to arrive on time and unharmed, get used to paying $20+ per package. If that's too much, move them yourself.

What like use a different mail company? All the ones you can choose from are the same and even if you go to the store to pick it up the same mail companies would have been involved in getting it to the store.

As a buyfag these stories terrify me especially considering how much of a fucking pain it is to resolve issues with damaged goods.

See about 5 different couriers come and go at my work.
They all sort through their parcels by literally grabbing them and tossing them to the front till they find what they need.
Most of them are on contract, fixed rate per hour plus commission per parcel, no sick days, no annual, if they have a day off they have to PAY for a replacement runner (So they lose day + day and a half to cover runner, which is 2.5 days~ pay loss per day off).

As a customer receiving goods from truck or van, I NEVER sign off a parcel with damage, but I can understand their problem to a degree. It's like America and tipping. Disgusting.

Just to add, it's not uncommon for a package to include about $5k worth of Tungsten globes or 200k worth of lighting consoles if it's a truck delivery. The local truck couriers are savage as fuck.
>Nah just put it on there

It's a closed loop.
I think there was either a recall on this piece of shit brand over that or it was incredibly common.
>Aluminium

>"Anticorrosive coolant"

But really, any watercooling IS going to fail at some point. Galvanic will just speed it up.
All these faggots on /g/ running extortionately priced AIOs crack me up.

I once ordered a Commodore 64, with floppy drive and PSU, shitloads of other stuff. It was all nicely packed, foam and stuff, but the box had been squeezed so hard the PSU and floppy had totally destroyed the breadbox case and board. It was an insured package, but I got only a 10€ refund because they just said because I bought it from another person and not a shop, they can't fixate the price and because they aren't sold anywhere anymore, we can't tell how much it is actually worth.

>they can't fixate the price and because they aren't sold anywhere anymore, we can't tell how much it is actually worth.
That might be a good valid excuse if you would bought something very obscure like a "Brother FB100 portable floppy drive" or a "Philips PM6611 universal counter" but right now many C64s are for sale on eBay, they should have given you a refund high enough to be able to buy a replacement in a condition similar as before shipping.
I wonder what they would have said on some 5-8 year old thinkpad or a Wii.
Never the less, you seriously got ripped off and should have complained about it.
