I think it's a pretty great mouse, other than the side rubber wearing off like it did. Around the areas where my thumb sits it's actually become the consistency of wax. Could scrape the shit right off the mouse if I wanted to.

wow mine is exactly like that.

I didnt mind the rubber wearing off at first because it was like a snug hole for my thumb but now its larger than that and the rubber on the right side of my mouse has all been melted.

My scroll wheel is also fucky.

Steelseries used to replace those rivals with heavily worn down rubber since they had to admit that the rubber of the first version/batch of the rival was absolute cancer. maybe you should try your luck with their customer service. the new rival has a fixed grip with a more durable material.

they fixed this problem in the newer version of the rival. I have both and the new one is holding up great. You could try sending this pic directly to their customer service and you might get a new one for free.

I've had this one for about 2 years and the grip is only slightly worn. Pretty sure it was only the first batch that got bad rubber before they fixed it and you could get a replacement if yours was fucked up.
