Making a new thread before there is any reasonable justification for it as usual, faggot. Thanks for not disappointing us.

You forgot:
>Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
>Wireless is frowned upon.

Ok, this is going to sound retarded, but those are the exact same headphones my best friend throughout middle school, high school, and college had. We had a huge falling out because of some shit that ended up fucking up my life for awhile, so those are not going to happen.

No, over me getting drunk and cheating on my gf of over 3 years with his little sister, then bribing his little sister to keep it secret until she had a semi-mental breakdown over it which caused him, his family, and all of our mutual friends to hate me. It was pretty fucked up.

I'm 26.

And apparently those Fidelio X2s came out fairly recently, but the headphones he had were extremely similar looking.

So the Fidelio X2s are on sale on Amazon UK for 117 GBP, or about $150. I just bought them, and for some reason the price went down to 97.49 GBP, and then with the faster shipping my total was like 120 GBP or $160.

Only bad news is it'll take like a month or two for them to come in. But that's like half off, so whatever.

>>56724871
>Does anyone get scared they listen to music too much?
No. Most people do not live in a world of complete silence. Your house/apartment makes noise from the heating/cooling units. Just settling creates low level audible vibrations. Traffic noises from outside are somewhat obfuscated by windows and walls but are still audible. High pitched whines from electronics are usually inaudible but not always. The compressor pump on the refridgerator, etc. etc. etc.
It isn't listening to sounds too much that causes damage to your hearing. It is when you listen to it for too loud that it becomes a risk.
>>
>>56724886

DSP? You mean digital signal processing? Something that DACs do which is separate from what analog headphone drivers do? Are you trying to move the goalposts from what headphones, wired or wireless, produce and measure in frequency response, by arguing about DACs?

I'm going to assume you have no objectively better frequency response wireless headphone than the HD25 and trying to muddle the point with buzzwords.

Then your post about DSP and TruNote (or JBLs "personal" eq tuning which is again about DACs) was specious? Then I await some "objective standard of frequency response" or what is usually used around here, an image or link to a FR chart to the specific model you claim is better than the HD25.

>still moving the goalposts because the retard can't formulate a valid argument
Yes, it does seem that you are trying to move the goalposts from your original claim because you cannot provide what was asked:
>some "objective standard of frequency response" or what is usually used around here, an image or link to a FR chart to the specific model you claim is better than the HD25.
I made no mention about DACs or DSP or TruNote. That was you. But now it seems you are trying to pin your attempts to move the goalposts on me. So we can agree to drop your previous response about "retard ignorant of DSP. . ." and go back to the original claim.
>I await some "objective standard of frequency response" or what is usually used around here, an image or link to a FR chart to the specific model you claim is better than the HD25.
to support your claim:
>there are wireless headphones that are objectively superior [in frequency response] to the ones you own [HD25].

I expect a third failure to substantiate this claim in any way, ie. more shitposting.

Yes actually. People will literally be autistic enough to post the same thread just to make the OP. Just look at the /dpt/ a couple years ago. The same goes for the "i cant order pizza because of non software" and the maki poster from r9k who literally post off topic thread solely for the sake of shitposting.

>>
>>56725862
>Just look at the /dpt/ a couple years ago
I don't recall one OP having made the same thread for two years in /dpt/ or even for months. And there have been various OPs that posted. As mentioned in an age old thread when some fag complained about a weeb OP image that I always post an anime image and try to choose an image that doesn't favor any one headphone. There are plenty of non-anime /hpg/ OPs during those months and some anime OPs that I didn't post. Given this evidence, it is neither my personal opinion.

It conclusion, your counter-argument is defeated, if only for the last two weeks of this bump limit jumping fag not constantly posting the OP, or his opinion, as there are several full OP threads in the last few days. It is also defeated in that there is evidence that others have posted the OP for months moving the full OP out of any characteristic of "my opinion" and into a historically established standard of what we today call the Full OP.

Who is "we". You are obviously making the OP for yourself. The time it was originally created has nothing to do with anything.

Lets assume you didnt make the thread with the "full op" (kek), """you""" obviously get mad if anything gets posted differently. If thats not autism i dont know what is.

It shouldnt matter if someone buys wireless, beats, m50 or any other headphones. It's their money and choice. Do you go up to people on the street who wears beats and wireless earbuds and tell them they should not have purchase those? No. Its their decision to buy whatever they want. Whether its 10 dollar chink iem or 1500 dollar wireless headphones it doesnt matter.
>>
>>56725973
>Who is "we".
Everyone who used the full OP for months.

>You are obviously making the OP for yourself.
No, I am making the OP to see /hpg/ perpetuate.

>The time it was originally created has nothing to do with anything.
The time it was originally created and how long it was used and by who it was used all indicate that the full OP is larger than merely "my opinion."

>"you""" obviously get mad if anything gets posted differently.
No, I correct an OP that is not a full OP. If something new is added but beneficial, like for instance "Don't just say X sucks, present an alternative" then it is assimilated into the full OP.

>It shouldnt matter if someone buys wireless, beats, m50 or any other headphones
It does not matter what someone buys in /hpg/. It doesn't matter if someone buys headphones without filling out the form. You are raising a specious argument.

Beware though this headphone is decidedly not what you expect if you want something neutral, it is a little bassy and some people don't realize that before they buy it, and you need to understand that you can't return any beyerdynamic headphones, that's where the Beyersremorse meme comes from

Will you stop being disingenuous every damn time? Or is English your third language?

The OP says they are frowned upon and you seek "why are they objectively bad". That's not what it says. It merely reflects the opinion of the community at large and does not attempt to validate it.

I almost never engage in this wireless shitposting war but the only arguments I have seen for wireless are:

-"the downsides don't matter because of the convenience in my personal situation."

which is fine, though in most of those situations wires are just fine imo. and it's not really an argument for wireless at that point, more an argument for a personal choice which can't really be refuted.

or

-"wireless has no downsides because [objective limitation] doesn't matter/doesn't exist" or "[product marketing] eliminates that problem!".

both are pretty much non-arguments, they're just vague claims that I have never seen backed up with solid evidence.

the fact is that all wireless implementations that are "convenient" to most people, like bluetooth, necessarily have to rely on compression and/or signal processing, which in theory is fine as long as in the end the sound is audibly transparent compared to the source, but that has never gone past the points of claims of transparency, so just opinions.

and that's just talking about the sound, there is also the battery, design limitations, weight, price etc.

wireless is fine if you accept the limitations and you think for your situation it's a good tradeoff, but those discussions aren't really appropriate for /hpg/. because most of us are chasing sound from headphones, period. so sound quality overrides most other considerations. it's pointless to ask about wireless products because most of us either don't know anything because there are no measurements, or we've seen some and dismissed them for not measuring well.

some independent, impressive measurements/specs of a reasonably priced wireless product might change some minds though.

I have never in my life found a method that suited for me to listen to music. I feel I'm either:
a. Listening to the same tracks over and over again (because I start listening to albums or a really specific playlist);
b. Listening to shit because I have so many songs.

Is there a way to have a random playlist, but still take into account my preferences? Basically software that employs an algorythm that shows me new songs that I may not have heard on my PC, but that remembers how much I liked them in order to play them in a near future or not. Say I skip a song at the beggining: "well I guess that song was shit, better not play that again". Say I listen to the whole song "I bet he likes that one, I'll remember that in the future".

Is this a thing? How do you guys deal with it?

Ok, first things first, do you need/want isolation? If so you can exclude the K612 which is open-back, otherwise, now, if you do want isolation, what's your preffered signature, V-Shape, bassy or closer to neutral, that's the DT770, M50 and M40 in order.
Personally, if i had to pick just one i'd go with the K612, but it benefis from an Amp and i'm not sure if you have/want one.
Don't know anything about the M-Audio one, sorry.

Help me out /g/

AKG k240 or Philips SHP9500?

Heard many good things about the Philips, but they are not sold in my country, so I can't listen to them before ordering..
>>
>>56731699
The Philips easily.
>>
>>56731699
I have both, prefer my SHP's for extended use and I personally think vocals come through slightly better on them, that said the response is better overall from the k240's.
>>
>>56731456
What is the interest in headphone CSD plots? I don't understand what more do they actually show on a tiny time axis like that. Smoothing used on GE makes them downright useless.
>>
>>56731921
>muh audiophile golden ears that can hear ringing
>>
>>56731595
I don't care about isolation. I think about bassy sound but not colorized and dull, but tight and dynamic one.
>>

dt770 then.
>>
>>56732043
Thanks!
>>
>>56731957
Peaks in the frequency response are ringing and you hear that within some tolerance. CSD plot for headphones seems pointless to me. The fact that the treble range doesn't even start to fall down seems more like a source issue rather than something to do with the driver behavior.
>>
>>56731921
CSD is a SBAF meme that has never been demonstrated to affect the listening experience.
Just ignore it.

Do you know what a CSD is? I don't think you do.

>>56731921
>Cumulative Spectral Decay
A way to visualize the magnitude of system's time-frequency response by units of time and frequency. From visual inspection, most people use the FFT, but there are other transform methods that can be used.
>Smoothing used on GE makes them downright useless
You could only begin to perceive how painfully limited the utility is even without the additional smoothing.
Fundamentally, all data about linear systems is given by either the impulse response or the frequency response, magnitude AND phase. The CSD is computed from this data. Since it doesn't show new information, what you want it to do is to is to visualize the same information in a form that is more easily understood.

Now, how to explain this?
There are two somewhat related approaches I could elaborate upon:

-The frequency response and properties of resonators
-The uncertainty principle

700x

SHP9500
X2´s ( same price as the 900)
558 ( a little bit pricer than the 700x or 9500)
>>
>>56734594
But Bose does it the best.
>>56734598
From those, I'd say the SHP9500 is the best if you want a flat sound, but the pads aren't replaceable so it's not a long term solution.

If you like bass, then Fidelio X2.

If you want all around, then HD598 Special Edition.
>>
>>56734627
Why do you think that Bose does them the best?
>>
>>56734598
Check what you like about each and eliminate the ones that have less important stuff, for example, do you want/need detachable cables? that would eliminate the AD700/900, do you preffer bassy or bright? AD are bright, X2 bassy, do you preffer something closer to neutral? HD558. Stage and positional accuracy is more importante, AD.
None of those is particulaly bad, so you can't go wrong, but it would be much better if you could test them before buying or exchange if you dislike.

What is the audiophile term for the feeling of vocals on the dt990? They just sound so much better than the ath m50. They almost sound like they are in your ear and clearly separate from the rest of the song. Is that a kind of sound I can find in IEMs?
