I simply buy real switches/sockets to fidget with. You can flick the switch, unscrew the terminal screws at the back, and even operate the shutters with a pen. I have bad experience with some MK ones (that are made in Malaysia, the UK ones are still excellent) they flex and warp too easily, especially the Avant series. Legrand Mallia also tend to warp with enough force. ABB and Schneider electric ones are generally sturdier in design, although Schneider electric "plain white" switches and sockets are very loud. Metalclad and Waterproof types are generally more fun to play with since they normally come with pattresses.
