Anon, by selecting all billboards, you are helping google train a system that could implement adblock IRL
>>
>>56689812
>Google
>AdBlock
>Ad company blocking ads
They'd just replace them with Google ads.
>>
>>56689610
How many people are actually enticed by advertising? I have yet to click on any advert and bought a product/service afterward, never happened, with me. Who here does this??
>>
>>56689846
Advertising is a lot more sophisticated than you think these days. The company I work for started "native advertising" here on 4chan a couple years ago and they've had increased profits every quarter ever since.
>>
>>56689877
That's just shilling. And a 4chan thread, dare I say, carries more value than a static ad from google. Because even though some of us here are poorfags we will buy tech shit because of reasons.
>>
>>56689846

It's not just that. Having an advert consistently appear in your day to day routine is powerful enough..

I cant understand how it is in any way shape or form, sustainable to have advertising as the basis for so many companies that produce zero products. It's like value is created out of nothing.

Purge when?
I miss going outside and seeing green land and a blue sky. Why the fuck should I have to live a life that has a billboard or some obnoxiously bright screen flashing shit at me for my entire existence.

I listen to Sam Harris podcast, he keeps talking about this guy as being "misguidded" in a lot of things, every body keeps referencing his work, should that be the book I should start with?

It's sad cause the IoT is the next step, the next thing to really... Well, i don't want to use the word revolutionize but it's the next step, and yet it will be bastardized by marketing fucks into some awful thing.

I can't say much about Sam Harris, but I know Bernays is pretty much the creator of modern propaganda. Woodrow Wilson ran on an anti-war campaign, a few years later, with Bernays' help, he had the support of the country for entering World War 1. Bernays created modern propaganda and public relations. He was so effective, the Nazis copied his style and used his book(manual) for their own purposes during WW2.

It couldn't hurt to read it. It's not a long but, but it can be dry. It's basically a how-to for propagandists, most of it is common sense but Bernays brings it all together into one insightful process.

Don't start reading again with Bernays then. It's a boring book, tbeh.

This is the only person I support through patreon. You can get the gist of a lot of important books and ideas from his videos.

That's my problem ya see, I never actually read A book from cover to cover except for one, and it was a biography that I was interested in.

I will lose myself after a single sentence, gf says i got ADD, I think it's autism, either way I can't concentrate or follow a book easily, on a computer though, I got no problems, thinking of getting a cheap tablet to read on. Thanks for pointing out the videos to me, I'm a good audio learner. But if I am to try to get into college anon, I'm gonna have to read and figure out how to do it, may as well start now.

t. oldfag who's curiosity about thinking never left

I Just got a job in R&D for a startup in Ukraine that does the same thing. They are making "smart mirrors" for shops, idea being that it will recommend items like Amazon does. Cons? Includes tracking you throughout while shopping mall with cameras, wifi, Bluetooth and whatever else I come up with. Who would care about ethics when you can make 1.50$ selling you pair of socks that will go with your new pants, right?
>>
>>56691057
I'd rather buy $1.5 pants
