Will I ever be able to use linux with my GTX 960?
When I use Ubuntu there is massive screen-tearing.
When using Debian, after installing the drivers and rebooting, the desktop doesn't even show up.
What's the matter with Linux's drivers? Why are they so horrible?

Yes, of course. That's the first thing I do when installing the SO. But even these closed source drivers make Debian's desktop crash

I have a 960 and I use the closed source drivers on ubuntu 16 . It works fine except sometimes older open gl shit crashes.
