Hey /g/. In the coming months, I will aim all my energies at computer related activities.
I want to learn as much as possible in the mean time.
I got a decent plan mapped out, but I'm looking for reading material for the
down-time.
One book by Ron White (HOW COMPUTERS WORK) offers a basic summation of computer knowledge, which is useful.
I'm looking for something I can read on my Kindle though.
Please recommend good books dealing with general and basic computer knowledge I can read on my Kindle.
tl;dr:
recommend good /g/ books for kindle; share your book recommendations

If you REALLY want to dedicated your time and learn do this:
While doing everything below start learning python.
1. Learn how computers actually work:
"Principles of Computer Hardware"
2. Learn basic logic and maths required to understand algorithm design:
"Modelling Computing Systems
Mathematics for Computer Science"
3. Learn about algorithm design:
"Introduction to Algorithms"
Now you have a solid undergrad tier base that you can basically branch off in any direction you like from. Possibilities:
>A.I. - Artificial Intelligence: a modern approach, Russell & Norvig
>Graphics - 3D Computer Graphics, Watt
>Software Engineering - Software Engineering, Sommerville
Enjoy, you're basically more educated than most graduates at this point.

My background is Python. Picking up javascript and I'm now learning web dev.
The reading must be relatively light, considering I'll focus on the weightier stuff at other times. Ron White's basic book on computers is a good choice, something along those lines. I feel the fundaments are critical; don't wanna miss anything.
Anyway, I'm appreciative of all comments here, and I am saving the stuff for later. I will certainly be using some.
Hope you keep offering recommendations.
