but I want to learn c# to make dank meme games

Well then you want to learn programming, not coding. C#/F# are pretty comfy languages but you should start with something procedural, such as C. If you start learning OOP style without mastering procedural style, you'll turn into pajeet.

that and if OP wants to get in the actual industry he's pretty much stuck with C or C++

Into the video game industry maybe I agree with you, even though C# is decently popular as a scripting language. However, once he understands that being a 'video game developer' is a pipe dream for most people, he'll be able to use C# (and .NET in general) to get a stable, comfy enterprise job somewhere.

Maybe so in the gaymen industry, no serious studio wants to produce shitty unity games. C# has proliferated most other tech industries to some degree so it's still essential for programmers who don't want to starve to death.

not with that shitty platform

Depends on what do you want to do with programming. It's like saying 'I want to learn engineering'. Yeah ok great, but there are different sections of engineering that you should consider getting into, nobody is going to hire you if all you have is just general knowledge.
Pick something to specialise in and then learn about that thing as much as you can. C and C++ are both pretty safe languages to learn if you want to get started quickly, but if you want something a bit more fun and challenging then try getting into web development and embedded systems.
