Any Ausfags with nbn. i need the pro's and con's.
I've got NBN FTTP. I get about 100/40 and I'm located about 200M from the exchange, so i've got best case scenario.
I'm pretty sure it's dynamic. Like with most ISP's the only way you can get a static ip is if you buy a business plan

i-is he waring hockey pads?
frankston. melbourne, had the NBN for about six months. it's okay. being able to download a film in eleven minutes doesn't mean much when there aren't any films worth downloading. i torrented Avengers Civil War yesterday, and watching it was like chewing on a used condom.

>NBN
That's bad, even on Australian standards

>Stactic
Costs more
Good if you want to host
>Dynamic
Costs less
comes a pain if you wanna host shit
if you get ip banned on 4chan then reset your router lmao

You can pay $15 a month to telstra for a static on a residential connection.
Most people, even on /g/, have no reason or need for a static IP

uwot?
Melbourne here on static. Solid 100/100.
Sad thing is i experience more downtime than with adsl. Few times a week i have to restart NBN box because the connection drops out and won't reconnect . Had box replaced to no avail.
NBN is grossly mismanaged and is probably one of the biggest corporate shit shows

True that, my installation was a clusterfuck. Luckily haven't had any issues since then, but too much stupid shit like the sub-contractors have no way to directly contact the NBN about a job, and vice versa.
