I only wish W10 Mobile was as good as desktop W10.

That said, all the bullshit I see posted about the OS is just that: bullshit. Hell, I've gotten more into the development side of things with it because it's just so fucking easy to manage now.

I was, August 2015, happy that I could upgrade to Windows 10. Everything was OK for 2 weeks. Then shit hit the fan. Taskbar not loading, Start Menu not working, sound drivers failing. So I decided to reinstall it before I would need it for Uni. I managed to tweak it so that almost everything was OK. It was kind of slow, but good enough. 3 months later, had to change the sound driver AGAIN. 3 months after that, sound driver randomly fails 4 times in the same hour, start menu stops working and, after I restarted it, the fucking taskbar wouldn't load AGAIN. I have managed to fix this shit with a restart, because no tweaks could fix this shit. So, with all the hatred in my heart, I say FUCK MICROSOFT AND FUCK WINDOWS 10 AND FUCK THE ASSHOLES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO PATCH THIS SHIT, BUT INSTEAD THEY UPDATE PIECE OF SHIT CORTANA. If this fucking behaviour continues, I am reverting back to Windows 8.1. At least that was an OS that you could actually fucking work on without having to use half an hour trying to fix shit. Fuck Windows 10.

Windows 10 told me I needed to recover my outlook account, so i opted to have them send me a code by email. I received a 3 digit code and entered it to recover my account. No good, you need a 4 digit code they said. Requested a new code and got a 4 digit code, entered the code and was told I needed a 5 digit code. I thought about continuing to see how high they would go but I don't need an outlook account so I gave up.

All versions of Windows are proprietary, meaning they don't respect your rights as a user of their software. Not only does Windows have the potential to be malware/spyware (because it's proprietary), it's been straight up proven IS malware/spyware MULTIPLE TIMES.

- They have unrestricted access to your data
- They have a universal backdoor to install updates to alter your computer however they please
- When bugs are discovered, info is given to the NSA before the bug is fixed
- A myriad more issues could be listed and who knows what we don't know about

So I've been using OSX for the past for years for iOS Unity3D game development. I bought a new laptop but I'm still debating over what OS to install. I don't really want a Hackintosh as I'm not interested in OSX anymore, plus I'm moving away from iOS development and doing more general stuff.

It's between Ubuntu and Win10 for me. I really want to give Win10 a shot, because now Bash is available through the Windows subsystem for Linux. However, I'm a heavy vim user and I really like keyboard oriented user interfaces. That's why i was really looking forward to a WM like AwesomeWM or i3. What are my alternatives on Win10? The most promising things thus far are the following two;

Honestly, I just want something that works well, and allows me a really good keyboard driven windowing experience. Bonus points for something that allows me to open and easily switch to my favorite applications.

As for the latter, would I be able to get AwesomeWM running with that? I was using Hammerspoon on OSX, which also has a lua scripting interface, and I really enjoyed that.

Is anyone getting massive disk usage spikes and poor performance in general after the last updates? Man, it was fine before, but now even opening the start menu lags. And don't get me started on games performance.

I'm a lifelong diehard Windows user who recently started to dual boot with Ubuntu. I even made a thread about it not long ago. And now Windows just feels shit and slow to me.

I don't need an operating system that babysits me. I know how to fucking manage my computer myself without having a million background processes.

What is the least offensive way to install Windows 10 on my computer? I want to play Windows 10 games but I don't want OneDrive, I don't want that shitty fucking start menu with ads, I just want a working operating system.

Install Win 10 Enterprise LTSB. It's windows 10 without cortana, the app store (or whatever it's called) and some more stuff. If you want it just to play games and windows programs, it's the perfect choice for both virtual and physical machines. Wouldn't use it as my main OS tho.
