I had 8GB DDR2 Q6600, when I upgraded to my 5820k with it's quad channel memory I said fuck it, 8GB DIMMs, 4x8GB for 32GB total.

Feels good, I use generally 12-16GB at a time.

I have 32GB of RAM. Half of it is used for a RAMDisk.

I created an app to add "Run from RAMDisk" to my context menu, so I can launch anything I want using 16GB of RAM as disk space for the app.

The other 16GB are used for rendering and video editing, which actually uses the 16GB.

There's nothing wrong with having 16GB of RAM, or even 32GB. You're just autistic and don't understand what you need for your own productivity.
