It's finally over /g/, you can't defend Android anymore. Wtf is going on with 7.0? It just ridiculous. Also, show me a 4 year Android officially supporting 7.0 (not some indian botnet custom rom that shits itself every 2 minutes), jesus, is there even a 4 year old android that supports 6.0? even fucking 5.0? That's a fucking joke.

Yeah, do you know how they do that dipshit? By setting a compiler flag on the latest releases to favor the latest versions and artificially hobble older architectures/phones.

It's like Intel compilers screwing AMD cpus all over again. Best thing is, there's no way to outright prove it because we don't have access to any code. It's bullshit.

Just look at any video showing an iPhone 5 on iOS 10. Rock solid.
The 4 and 4S are some of the worst iPhones Apple has made. Glass panels that easily crack, antennagate, low ram, small screen size for their time, etc.

>>56591394
I bet you also think that double-blind studies are perfect. People will convince themselves that something is different and by extension wrong, when shown an alternative. Your graph would have validity if people were using one iPhone for an extended period of time in the absence of seeing that there is a new iPhone on the horizon.

All this shows is blind consumerism, which is likely perpetuated by women. Since intrinsically they pursue newer shinier things to acquire, while internally criticizing themselves and her possessions.

True to an extent in the past because jobs was an asshole. However at least he knew what to make or at least show people that they needed it. Cook not so much. Even with him as CEO I still get the feeling from him that he does care but that he isn't completely in control of the company and that he has a second in command authority to it. From my time of using Apple products from a kid till now (system VII-macOS and iOS) I have had little complaints about how things performed. In most cases I actively chose the Mac system over Windows 95/98 or XP.

What I'm getting at is that even as an applefag (I have the latest non-retina MBP, an iPad mini and a 5), I don't like the new shit Apple sells these days. All of my products are from 2012 a year after jobs died but still well within any timeframe he undoubtedly had laid out for the company in his last year of living. The watch? Shit and gaudy for everything currently. The iPad pro? Needs to run some slimmed down version of OS X/macOS, until then a meme. The humpback charge case, pencil and mouse that has the charge port on the bottom. Ugly and stupid design choices. No headphone port? Very bold risky decision that likely should be done 2-3 years from now. The soldered thinned out MBPs and 12" MB? Yes they look nice and are powerhouses for their size. But why so fucking thin and locked down? The trashcan? Stupid as fuck and looks like a fire waiting to happen.

Granted I'm one of the few applefags that would use android but don't since I don't like Google, pajeet coders, and OEMs that don't maintain products. I also have about a thousand dollars put into iTunes over the last decade. So I want to use those purchases.

>>56592191
Yes because a company should have to support devices not made in this millennium. Fucking stupid. Take for example the 07-mid 09 iMacs. They can run El Capitan but not Sierra when it's released next week. However Apple provides security updates for the current OS plus the last two major versions. Which means that computers running El Cap will be supported until Fall 2018. That's 11 years for '07 iMacs. The same length of time that Microsoft will have supported Windows 7 when 2020 comes. iDevices until Apple released iOS 9 typically had a 3 years of support beyond their release year. With iOS 9 and 10 that jumped to 4 years (5 total). That's a fucking long time in the smartphone world and only until recently has the advancement trend started to show signs of slowing down like its desktop/laptop companions.

So yes by what I've written Apple does "planned obsolescence" and has "abandoned hardware".

I really enjoyed your post till you said that. There's no reason to use iTunes anymore. It was understandable during The early iPod days but now there's better uses. Either rip your music off from YouTube or buy a cd album and rip the music off of it to convert to flack. You could torrent as well.

You made me interested so I went back and counted it up, from the last time I looked like 3 years ago. The total I've spent was ~1230, with 62% of it being within the first five years of my ten and half years using the iTunes Store. The remaining 5.5 years were OS X updates (lion, mountain lion, server) movie music, anki (devs push development costs on to iOS users $25), apps on sale and games on sale from the Mac App Store (batman arkham games, bioshocks, COD4, and borderlands) and then a movie or two with few purchased songs. In fact today is the first time I bought a song in about 3 years. As for your suggestions, that's what I've been doing for the past 3 years when someone on /g/ recommended YouTube-dl with homebrew, I have the commands setup to download the original quality file from youtube. The 3 years before then I was using sketchy MP3 rip sites. 1240 isn't a lot given what I make now but I'm not going to switch to appease whatever amount of freetard I have in me. I'm fine with my old 5 and its jailbreak.

Love to get a sweet up to date flip phone again. Bored with my smartphone. Feels mostly useless. No point in most of the apps I can just do it at home on a PC.
>>
Apple would win me over if they did a flip phone with a decent camera. Battery lasts for days camera takes good quality pics and video. Syncs calendar and contacts.

Shame it's almost impossible to replace the battery on that thing without damaging the frame.

>managing my torrent files
FTFY. All applications these days come with avenues to get information to and off your phone. It's normie friendly that way and smartphones cater to normies. Having access to a filesystem is a meme and dangerous for 90+% people when given access. I can't count the amount of times I have seen idiots delete integral system files or modify plists on their jailbroken phones just have it bite them in the ass later on, forcing them to dfu restore. Hell I have access to it with the filza app through cydia and I haven't opened it in the past 6 months except to look if I had any system files modified after my jailbreak because of Pegasus. Didn't find anything but my issue would have easily been solved using the lookout app (the same people who reported the malware to Apple). Filesystems are memes for smartphones and only used by neckbeards who torrent on the go (literally for what purpose, get a seed box, get it when you go home or get more money to buy it legitimately).

>having access to your phone is bad becaue normalfags are retarded
Thats just as retarded. Give it a "hidden" possibility and warn people about fiddling with it. Everyone stupid enough to fuck his system with this deserves it.

> India has more than 200 people per square kilometer defecating in the open. No other country in the world has a higher number of people defecating in the open per square kilometer. In fact, India has the most open defecation per square kilometer by a long long margin: the countries which have the second and the third most number of people defecating are Haiti and Nepal, which have 79 and 77 people defecating in the open per square kilometer. Bangladesh, Pakistan, all of sub-Saharan Africa, every place on the planet, is much better than India.

Apple iPhones are objectively better than Android devices. The downside is that Apple's devices are overpriced.

>>

I think location is a very relevant aspect as well.

When I lived in Europe I used Android and saw Apple products as overpriced garbage that people with more money than sense buy.

I moved to CA last year, and was given a 6s plus as a work phone. I stopped using my HTC and S6 to try it out, and honestly it is the best phone I've ever owned. Not only that, the support in the US for Apple products is staggeringly good. If anything goes wrong you can toddle down to Apple and have them sort it out for you within 24 hours. None of the big cities in Europe have support that is even remotely as efficient, and shitty Android phones don't have any at all.

I hate Apple but I'll be fucked if they don't make absolutely fantastic products. Their presentation is also sublime, compare the iPhone box to the Samsung box and the latter will make you vomit. Cheap, chinese magnet fold over box and a big ugly barcode on the back VS slick, veneer white finish.

They have the market, and unfortunately the business world doesn't care about poor people who think they're tech savvy by buying a chinkphone.

Don't hate the player.

I had 2 iPhones prior to me getting an android phone. It didn't take then even a few months to become sluggish and slow. So I said fuck it and bought an HTC Desire 510 and this little piece of shot has survived more trips and falls than those 2 iPhones did combined. As well as staying pretty consistent with its speed instead of fucking up when I install one too many apps.
