Looking into purchasing a simple Panasonic Toughbook
used i am seeing are being price ranged from $120-400 bucks obviously depending on cpu and ram, etc...
any of you /g/uys have any advice and what to look for -- in regards to price and longevity? [i.e. how much abuse can the laptops take...]
there is a guy selling a mk3 cf-30 with an l9300 1.60ghz +2gb mddr2
for $80 bucks...
should i go for it?

Really cool machines and i can imagine their use on an oil rig, in the army etc. But why want one for personal use ?

Get a chinkpad instead.
If it breaks you buy a new one for 50 bucks.
You can buy enough chinkpads for the next 30 years with the price of a thoughbook.
