give it back, tyrone
Remove laptop's then CMOS battery from the innards and hold down power button for 3-4 minutes, voilĂ the BIOS is back to default settings and the password is gone as if it never was set.
>that feel when reinforcing the stereotype of tech support Indian.

I think Thinkpads have a writable area in the chip that doesn't need power from a battery.

try this, it's for the x220 but the x230 is very similar

Yep, pretty sure you need specialised equipment to take out the passwords.

i am going to try this
Pajeet af
>tfw tech support can't use hardware bypass
>tfw skiddy boot disc doesn't work
>tfw you can short the mobo to reset the pass

It's just not possible as it's meant to be a security feature. These laptops were designed for business security in mind.
Give it back tyrone you need expensive equipment to get rid of that password
Right with this, I have an old thinkpad with a supervisor password locked on it, I research on how to remove and it is not as simple as you think, yopu can actually buy or build a peice of hardware so that you can connect to two pins i think 7 and 8 and earth pin 1, then with this hardware you can connect to a computer whichb has a serial port only so you can edit the eeprom chip containing the supervisor password, this chip cannot be reset using all this trickery with batterys and shit.

Also the chips are well hidden in a bitch of a place to get to meaning take apart the whole laptop :D

Little research didnt read it its in german but its your thinkpad and the chip you need to play with

>:D
Don't do this.

I had a T22 given to me and to remove the password I had to read the contents of a chip with a homemade Serial port reader and a decoder for the password. Had to take apart almost all of the computer but it was a hell of a fun for me.
>Inb4 "Give it back Tyrone"
>It was legit given to me by the owner as she didn't used it anymore because old model
