Ignoring all typical /g/ ThinkPad fanboyism, it just so happens that these are the only laptops with a good trackpoint, allowing the user to keep their hands on the home row.
ThinkPads also happen to have the best keyboard you'll find in a laptop. Whether you're looking at the classic keyboard or the modern chiclet style keyboard, you simply won't find a better keyboard in another laptop. Except, of course, for that one gayming thing with a mechanical keyboard.

Thus, a ThinkPad is the most appropriate tool for typing on the go or at a lecture like this.

In our uni all lectures are being recorded with a kind of security camera and they provide livestream and archive options. The quality of the livestream is good enough but sometimes there are some hiccups. But consider that most of the students don't live inside the campus so it was kinda a necessity.
