I wanted to build a new PC but I kind of out of the loop. I'm not so much into gayming but I need heavy processing power on my CPU for an affordable price. I was planning to get an i7 6700K but some fags at my uni meme'd that it is a bad time to get an Intel, as both kaby lake and 10nm chips are being launched soon. Did I get meme'd? Should I opt for a 6700K or should I wait?
There's nothing wrong with 6700k

Wait for Kaby Lake/Zen only if you're a W10 cuck.

what does the CPU have to do with the OS?

New chips will most likely be locked to he new os

new chips will require w10

10 will be the only supported Windows on 7th gen Intel CPUs

Is this real?

other OS's will still run on it. basically, if you want to run older windows, you may need some firmware work-arounds to implement system calls and such, but it's still doable. microsoft is just not officially supporting anything but w10 on the new processors. as the article states, linux, bsd, macos, and others can still run on it if they support the hardware.
