Verizon shill here. I won't pass out like last time.

I am a Solution Specialist, or "SALESMAN" if you prefer to read between the lines. I'll answer questions that to not directly endanger my identify.

iPhones are launching soon but the turnout is only about average. Nothing to blow your skirts up. The $650 credit deal is confusing even to us. No one can give us an exact answer on how it works. It just does.

Note 7's are a fucking mess. You can technically return it without any restock fee for any phone and then swap back to the new immolation free Note 7's when they come out. This is a massive fucking headache for us and we nearly ran the Samsung rep out of the store because this shit is unorganized and time consuming.

Other then that feel free to ask away.
>>
>>56560408
Yeah Ive got a question. Why the fuck did verizon disable the internal fm recievers in the s7 edges they sell? That kinda pisses me off. In fact you do a lot of things that piss me off. If it werent for them being the only network that actually gets coverage at my backwoods home, Id tell you to shove it, and switch to a better company.
>>
>>56560481
>Why the fuck did verizon disable the internal fm receivers in the s7 edges they sell?
100% honest. I have never even heard of this before. If I had to guess it was because of some kind of contract deal with either the manufacturers or us. Like you said. Verizon works in the midwest more or less because no one else has to excess dosh to expand in low revenue return states.

Ok I'll play your little game verizon fag

In my store the iphone 7 turnout is out of this fucking world

Everyone is asking for them and I'm telling them that it won't be until mid october before they get their preorder, maybe later.

The Note 7 recall is going to shit, I've already have a couple of customers that came in angrily asking for a loaner phone until the replacement notes arrive, I'm just a floor lead so I usually just throw them at my store's Assistant Manager

Also I feel like you fuckers are starting to feel the heat because I see more and more verizon commercials taking shots at us and T-Mobile

Also, speaking of the note 7 I love how the media is blowing it out of proportion like it's going to blow up like a nuclear device and take out a city block or some shit

At least that's how our costumers are asking

I had a lady call and ask if she was going to be ok like her phone was a ticking time bomb or some shit

Our Samsung advocate (the guy that gets the free samsung phone on release every time) says his note 7 has absolutely no problems
>>
>>56560636
I live in the midwest. You fucker literally are irrelevant.

We see people walk in daily with T-mobile and Sprint phones because they are here for the oil or replaced by the military. We don't even have to work hard because only AT&T has even semi-reliable service out here. Everyone else is an instant customer.

I am pissed about the Note 7 recall myself because some high level order told us to just give them whatever they want and THEN give them a new Note 7 when they come out. We have no way or relatively tracking these transactions or pulling up a fast reference in a few weeks when they come back in. Samsung has royally fucked us front end wise.

>feel the heat

Current smart phone plans are as follows.

>$30
Unlimited talk/text. No data.
>$45
2gb data unlimited talk/text (+1gb with auto-payment)
>$60
5gb data unlimited talk/text (+1gb with auto-payment)

If you bring your own phone and are only responsible for your own bill. Prepaid is good. Same service and damn near same network priority. Post paid gets more affordable when you have 2+ phones and then you can use the device payment to get expensive phones with next to nothing upfront.

Yes it is being blown way the shit out of proportion. If I had a Note 7 I would be plugging it into some ratshit $2 charger from the gas station and burrowing it under my mattress praying to christ it ignited. The lawsuit winfall would be like finding a fucking golden ticket. Still people like to come in and over state the situation. One guy got angry concerned "for his families safety" because it could ignite without warning.

Nothing but wasting time swapping devices and transferring 4,366 photos for an hour because some cunt doesn't know how to back shit up himself.

Technically no but most people are fucking drooling retards and even if it takes me some extra time the sale gets me more commission.

Sending them home is the least painful way to deal with it but 80% of people have no idea what that means or how to do it and the rest means I just handed off an upgrade or add line.

Thankfully our new transfer app allows us to upgrade their phone and pair them with the old one and send them on their way. No more need to stay tethered to our wifi.

Verizon disables FM tuners in their phones so that you will be more likely to pay more for a larger data allocation as opposed to just using FM radio (which is free).

Pretty jew-y if you ask me.

>>56561007

Lower priority and not nearly as reliable if you're not in a major population center. All these super cheap carriers basically are signing up Verizon customers under a different name and taking a less then performance average then our direct customers. Believe me the moment it actually becomes a competition we will jack up the prices for using our towers to the point we make just as much or the leeches are run out of business.
>>
>>56560960
That is actually pretty weird. I'd call into customer support and get that stopped.

>Your new commercials reek of desperation
Yeah we have lower ratings b-but we're less expensive!
>>
>>56561038

> what are anti-trust laws

MVNOs literally exist because of them. Major carriers don't sell airtime wholesale because they want to, they do it because the FCC will literally shit on their head if they do not.

Also the priority thing is a joke, it's been shown time and again that the devices are indistinguishable to the network. Verizon (and Sprint, and T-Mobile, and AT&T) shills just spread fud out of desperation because if more customers knew about contractless plans at a third the price they wouldn't get their little commission checks.

It's a joke.

Just bumping because I do sales at USC. Enjoying reading your stories because we're having an equally shitty time with the Note 7.

Had to deal with a lady who accused me of selling it to her on purpose so it would kill her.

Also, VZ shill, do you guys give customers a way to recover real text messages easily? I had some lady accusing to call the police on me because her boyfriend dug up some text messages, and I had shit all to do with it. Just helped her boyfriend answer some questions.
>>
>>56561038
This is why I would never get a Verizon phone. I'm an MVNO poorfag using straight talk on AT&T. This isn't even the best I can get.

AT&T has a superior network in Michigan too. Theirs was inherited from Cellular One while Verizon's came from Alltel. That faggot Chad didn't get that far out into the sticks, once you leave the city that shits a step below Sprint.
>>
>>56561378
Proof
>>
>>56561337
iPhones are iCloud backup only for reliable returns. Androids have Verizon cloud preinstalled that saves messages. Contacts are fucked half the time for some reason though. We instantly direct shit like that to our legal team. We cannot look up current texts and advise them they can see past calls in their bill but not much else. Everything in store is by photo ID only so we don't typically get that bullshit.

>>56561378
Glad that works for you anon. To be quite honest Verizon is the largest and most expensive and our front end caters to people who are not that informed about technology. Truly savvy can save $10 a month by picking up a sub-carrier and buying 2nd hand phones. If that works then more power to you. I don't want you in my store. I want people who need my help and don't want to shop 5 different places for all their shit.

I never take advantage of people, I offer honest suggestions. Something that gets me in a lot of shit from management despite blowing the fuck out of the rest of the store in end of month totals. You don't need my help and I don't want you wasting my time. We should never encounter one another.
>>
>>56560704

>I can keep my unlimited data plan?
Yes. As long as you keep it under 100gb. Going over that means a very sympathetic and endearing Dear John letter meaning you're cut the fuck off.

>upgrading
We up'd unlimited plans twice over the past year in price but we added device payment as an option now. You can technically get a brand new iPhone 7 on the 24 month death and keep your data plan. If they give you shit your local store is very likely an authorized retailer. They are scum, no better then block corner crack dealers. Call into 611 on your device and talk to our sales team. You can keep unlimited and upgrade.

Although with the new plans unless you use like 30+gb it is cheaper to just get a regular plan. Whatever works for you.

On Verizon's network with the exact same coverage. Verizon's actual prepaid service is a joke, their own CEO said in an interview that they don't give a fuck about their prepaid customers because that's not where the money is and that they consider TracPhone to be their "actual" prepaid audience.

>using the smiley with a carat nose
>>
>>56561592
Kinda hard to truly be a leech when you're stuck with 5gb per month. When I lived in the Philippines I thought 800mb per day was a joke, but this shit is a lot harder to cope with. I was a Sprint unlimited customer before that and I was happy with it. My phone could roam on Verizon too but it had shit data priority. I really didn't mind much. I'll probably go back to being a Sprint customer after I pay off the debt I have to them from before I left the country.

I know these networks can withstand a lot more than anyone is throwing at them right now. The providers are just too cheap to invest in it properly.
>>
>>56561644
Do whatever is best for you anon. I don't deal with backroom talks or technical specs. If someone walks in and asks which is the best phone I point to the one most people buy.

By and by I have had a lot of complaints from sub-carrier customers. The prices might be more but I feel confident they enjoy better service.

I deal with averages. I take what most people like or hate and vomit it back in the most easy to comprehend way possible.
>>
>>56561644
They throttle the shit out of that though. Better to use a MVNO on one of the other three networks.
>>
>>56561627
Cool cool. Thanks.
>>
>>56561671
>I know these networks can withstand a lot more than anyone is throwing at them right now. The providers are just too cheap to invest in it properly.
Quite the opposite. All the major carriers are shitting their pants trying to find the next carrot.

In the beginning it was just having coverage at all. Then it was minutes. Then texts. Then some email and light data. Now phones are basically portable computers that can use shitloads of data.

They do not know what to limit next as a commodity to milk for money. You could almost already talk/text/data as much as you wanted within reason but communication companies specifically limit the latest craze for profit. After unlimited highspeed data what else is there? Why buy a higher priced plan?
>>
>>56561704
I think I know what's next. Similar pricing to MVNOs for everything unlimited. They will push all those low cost guys out, slowly phasing them out and cellular service will become more like a utility, a necessary service everyone needs. T-Mobile and Sprint are moving in this direction already. It will take longer for Verizon and AT&T to follow but at some point it's going to touch them. Maybe phone sales will need to be made a bigger part of their business, that's already kinda happening isn't it with the slow move away from financing?
>>
>>56561678

>>56561678

>They throttle the shit out of that though

No they don't, stop lying Verizon shill.

MVNOs don't throttle until after you hit your data cap, in which case they drop you to 2g like everyone else (it's why they can say they have "unlimited" data).

There is an MVNO on T-Mobile's network with "Unlimited LTE" for $60 a month and I saw one guy use 60+GB and another use 23GB in a month and were still connecting at 15-20Mbps without being throttled.

The only real downside to that plan is that it's on T-Mobile's network.
>>
>>56561752
>giving up huge fucking juicy loli cunny profits because some micro twats forced lower upgrade prices because they were desperate

Come one /g/ you are smarter then this. The big dogs will find something else to push as a premium to drive higher monthly plans. They have no reason to bow down like the drowning carriers.

On a more serious note, my G4 started bootlooping recently. It's still a few months away from 1 year since purchase, so Verizon will replace it, I know. My question is, can I ask for a different phone?

>>56560408
I'm going to be cancelling my line with Verizon in the next few days. It's out if contract but I'm sure the salesman is going to make it as painful as possible. Its on a family plan and thus pretty convoluted. I'm just trying to save my parents as much money as I can. Ive though about making him think I'll be switching to another Verizon plan and then pulling out at the last minute to make him think he's making a sale. Any other tips?

>striek
Bunch of FIOS cunts. Unions in commission occupations is pantsu on head retarded to begin with. If they were getting a raw deal they should have changed companies.

Bootlooping is a warranty as fuck replacement as long as you don't have any cracks in the screen. Replacement will only give you the same device. Unless your device is so godamn old they don't have a CLNR. Then they will upgrade you.

In store people have very fucking little to encourage them to stop you. In some markets they may give you some benefits for staying but on a whole we have no metric front end for "saves". I used to work retention and our commission was based on how many people we made stay.

In store if someone comes up and says they want to drop a line. I'll ask if they are going to their own account, prepaid, or another service. If it is just an unused line I'll try to make it a table or Hum. Otherwise I want you out of my hair as fast as I can.
>>
>>56561768
Also I was going to mention that my mom uses that simple mobile plan you're talking about, it's great. I would be using it too if they had good coverage in the state of Michigan outside of Detroit. Starting next month I won't be here anymore.

Cricket (AT&T) has a similar plan for $70 but they throttle you to 8mbit, I am thinking of switching to that once I get up north and get all my financial shit sorted out. I can live with that speed.

Umm, no. Not around these parts at least. I could get service vastly cheaper where I am now, but when I had it, calls dropped constantly (like 6-7 times an hr) you had delays and echos, calls would not ring even if you had 5 bars, etc.

Granted this was a few years ago but even today I'm nervous to go back, even at almost half the price.
