I got mine for ~$325, seems to be towards the cheaper side as far as online prices go but I've heard of people picking them up on Craigslist for $100-$200.
I want to upgrade mine with AC Wi-Fi and a 240GB SSD (currently has a 30GB HDD) and sell it but this one's got an extended battery and I don't want to give that up. Probably going to pick up a second one, upgrade both, and sell the spare.

Man always I see a PS Vita I get really sad, what an amazing machine, with amazing graphics (by now an upgraded version of this could probably pull off almost the same graphics as the ones from PS3 games). Yes, disabling JS does make the captcha work, but the PSP net browser doesn't have a fucking copy & paste functionality so I still can't post from there.

The Vita can hardly be considered an "old" portable, as it's still the most current portable after all these years.

Sure, nice thing about an open device is it's still modestly usable today. Still has a community on maemo.org. Although expect to do a lot of the legwork yourself these days. But go for it if that doesn't scare you, it's a fun device.
