Why is every "good" looking linux desktop pretty much the same?

Flat colors, squares and bitmap fonts. And you talk about customization. You do nothing but have the same setups with different colors. This one is light blue, the other one is dark red. And the worst thing is, you spend time on this shit. You choose to spend time on customizing your desktop so it looks samey. You boring fucks.

The setup never feels perfect. There's always something you dislike, and you end up thinking that installing a DE isn't so bad at all.

I mean, you don't abandon for eternity your riced setup, but you start using more DE and gui softwares.

It probably didn't happen to you yet, but it's true with 80% of the Linux users I personally know.

For any other ui sure

For Gnome 3 I'm not sure, what's up with these huge titlebars, fonts and wasted space?

I like Gnome's idea of activities hud and unified window management and application launcher, but I hate the bloated top black bar. It doesn't do anything, it isn't customizable, it just sits there and wastes space.

I contemplated editing the gnome shell css and completely hide the top bar and use gnome only with gestures but I would loose too much time and I have to make it again in the next update, so I installed Xfce, it gets the job done and gets out of the way

Whatever did happen to Miles? I remember some mess with him showing a desktop that implied he had CP or something.

As I recall, installing themes on Windows isn't much easier, what with all that themepatcher bullshit you need to do. So at this point, you're just being a faggot.

Not that hard.
>>
>>56573049
Congrats, you showed me a list of 7 preinstalled themes. I'm talking about FULL Windows themes that require you to use UX Theme Patcher. Not the shit you're showing me that just changes the color of your gay Aero taskbar.
>>
>>56573257
Which is the exact same thing as downloading third party KDE, Gnome, Lxde, Xfce, and GTK themes on Linux, and having to put them in /usr/share/themes, MINUS the restarting process.
>>
>>56573349
No it isn't. Installing this shit on linux is much faster, safer, and easier because you at least have some idea of what you're doing. Every fucking idiot that gets into ricing the first time is scared they're going to crap out their Windongle install.
