So after flashing a custom ROM, my phone boots up completely normally. That is until I get to the home screen, however. The moment the screen goes off, it won't turn on again, until I either hard reset or pull the battery. I then have to clear Dalvik/factory reset to get out of a bootloop, thus restarting the cycle. This isn't the first flashing of this ROM that's gone this way. I'm just wondering if anyone would know what the root of this issue is, and how to prevent it.

I'm bored with stock, and I really want this ROM to work. So I don't see that as an option, unfortunately.

It's not unusable. I can at any time flash stock firmware, and restore one of my backups. But I guess it's on me if I don't want to go back.

Could be anything from bad/wrong drivers, voltage or binning issues, software bugs in userland, or straight up failing hardware.

Either way someones guess isn't going to make it magically, including mine. Flash your stock rom.
