Provides a simple folder browser that's enough to browse to artists -> album -> song if you have your folders arranged ahead of time. "Ruizi" will ship in Chinese and you will have to change the language on first boot (easy, just watch youtube video)."AGPTek" makes a version of this for the American market with slightly different firmware and English language. Has 5-band EQ

The X02 + 16 GiB mSD was a good enough player to be my everyday go-to for a while.

$35 - Refurbished "Sansa Clip + " - Some sansa clip models are compatible with "Rockbox", basically linux for mp3 players. The screen is tiny but it's enough to navigate through folder structure which is all you need. Has an excellent EQ system, can make playlists-on-device once you get gud.
