Apple shouldn't.

In fact all phone and internet infrastructure as natural monopolies should be nationalised. Project Fi is merely lip-stick on the pig that is private control of network infrastructure and limited frequency bands sold off to milk us dry on essential communications.

If you use very little data it's about the same value as the bare minimum plan for every other prepaid carrier like Boost or Metro. Boost, Metro, and other prepaid carriers offer a monthly unlimited 4g plan for $60, Google doesn't and they charge you $5 or $10 for every gb. It also only works on Nexus devices.

Literally the only good feature of fi is the data rollover/money back feature.
