How important is AMOLED screen on phone?
very
looks great on my S4

It saves battery and thus is a necessity.

not really.
I just use my phone for 4chan, contacting peers or my professors, anime, and music when exercising. I don't think I would bat an eye if my phone suddenly stopped having an AMOLED display.

how?
>>56533855
On an LCD screen a black pixel is restricting the backlight from being seen, the backlight is still powered. On an AMOLED screen the pixel creates its own light, so if the pixel is black it's actually drawing less power.

On a normal LCD, pixels that are supposed to be black are on, just showing the color black.
AMOLED, black pixels are actually off. It saves battery power this way, and also allows for better contrast quality.

but isn't the os mostly white? since ios 5 and android 5 even status bar isn't black.
>>56533964
Maybe yours. BB10OS has a mostly black theme and I'm sure you can change Android's status bar back to black

What?
Is burn in still an issue? I can see a faint circle from the home button in full screen apps on my Nexus 6p and I've owned it for like 9 months. Phones are supposed to last 2+ years so thats worrying.

This is why soft keys are retarded.
>>56534004
That's actual technology, cuck.
Very important if you use your phone in the dark. And overall better than LCDs in pretty much any usage condition. Their main problem is burn-in, which however I find an acceptable compromise (barely visible at all when looking for it, on solid colors) in exchange for perfect blacks.

Recent flagship Samsung phones allow you to change the os theme. Cyanogenmod does that too.

Ignore... facts?

I'm talking about my Motorolla.
