I was wondering if it's worth it to build a cheap laptop or if I should just drop $150 on some pre-built overpriced junk at Best Buy?
I need to be able to run all of the following on it at the same time over wifi
>VoIP (skype, teamspeak)
>youtube videos
>spotify
>windows media player
All this work for $150 doesn't seem worth it
What does /g/ think?

You'd have better performance clustering a bunch of Raspberry Pis together than whatever colossal shitbox you buy for $150

I am a complete newbie in tech related things, but I am trying to build my own laptop. I know that sometimes it doesnt matter how much you improve your ram, or if you get a ssd, if your graphic cards is limited, or motherboard, or cpu. What I haven't been able to learn is where are the limits, what components make the increment of other ones useless. Where could I learn this?
