Are trackballs /g/ approved?

would i get used to this as easily as i did to trackpoint

I'm enjoying mine so far.
I used to finger tip grip an optical mouse, and I could never get the sensitivity where I wanted it. It would always be too high for normal use, or too slow for when I wanted to quickly flick around. Always ended up picking up and moving the mouse. I don't have to do that anymore.

i have a kensington trackball with the scrollring and i love it for running SDR software, i am sure people that use photoshop and other software like CAD software where being precise as possible is crucial would benefit from a trackball too

Had to use one for months, web browsing was a hassle. Very nad for every day use compared to a regular mouse, but are great for specialized software
