I haven't done kernel building for ages so I can't even remember but why can't we at least get the new kernel in the custom ROMs, but no even those use the 3.10 bullshit. If its a case of drivers not being available, then why the fuck are Android device drivers still closed? And even if they are why can't the fuck-huge Android """community""" (read: Pajeetity) come up with open drivers?

Patches that are delivered in 4.7.1 can be applied to older versions as well.
It's not like every single distribution of the same kernel version is exactly the same in patch levels.
