I work for a local IT company.
We've had fiber for years.
It was, until this year, 10x10 only. We just upgraded to 100x100. It just now became available.
To a business.

In that market, there are two competitors here and neither had the infrastructure to deliver high speed fiber until lately. Merit (third entity) offers some great fiber plans to local schools, unis, colleges, etc. but again, not residential.

Meanwhile, Charter will serve me 100x10 cable internet but they'll never do fiber to home at the rate they're going.

I only get 15 mbps download and 9mbps upload, and I'm not sure if I can get more than that on our old copper infrastructure.

Through some sort of black magic called EuroDocsis 3.0 I manage to get 250mbit from my cable. Even some of the fiber operators here don't give more than 100, so no real need to switch...

I live in a town of about 25,000 in the Upper Midwest & we have a pretty nice municipal run fiber networks.

Not available where I live. I would get it if I could & it wasn't some outrageous price. I'm limited to about 24Mb out in rural England. I could move but it's not really worth losing garden, driveway, private parking, garage (probably) and half the floor area of my house to move to London or whatever. I'm near a train line so can easily get in.

No, but I like living in rural Norway. Sadly that comes at the price of slow internet.

They've said they're going to start digging fiber next spring though, gonna be noice.
