Well the AKG K712 are very similar to all the others in the K/Q7xx series if you've heard the K702 they are close but with a warmer mid-range and stronger low end in general.

Decent for all around usage, but for bass heavy music you'll still want nice speakers with a sub or decent closed back headphones.

However the K712 are great for classical music, opera, gaming, anime, etc.

What's wrong with it?
Unless you're a keyboard enthusiast it's great, and it still has the most advanced software controlled RGB LED lighting you can get on a keyboard.
Razer's software is easier to use, but less advanced.

It has Cherry MX switches, the only real problem is the keycaps are not standard sizes so it's a pain in the ass to replace keycaps without spending a million dollars.

The actual build quality of the keyboard is pretty decent for the price as well.

You have the non-arguments. It's got zero benefit or convenience to it at all and all things considered, it's actually more hassle. On top of that it costs money and takes up space, provided you have a second monitor (or first, the monitor you should be using but aren't because you're a twat) configured horizontally.

All because you don't want to scroll, for some reason, which you still end up doing. If not up and down a page then from one page to the next.


The difference is so nominal it's crazy anyone falls for it.

All my monitors have had adjustable, or removable stands. So it's free. In this instance I just flip it side ways and then flip it back.

Minimal difference maybe, but still there. Opened up a full programming page in vim in portrait mode, 350 more lines shown. And because of indentation style in programming, you don't go all the way to the end of your line since most statements are small. So all the blank space horizontally (see picture) is now going vertically to lines below it.

That's objective result and benefit right there. When you can do it for free there's no reason not to.

My sole monitor is one geared toward graphic design. It tilts, swivels, performs the Immelman maneuver and does doggy style. While it's essentially free for me in the same way it is for you, the reason I wouldn't bother switching to portrait is because I couldn't be assed to turn the thing for what little 'benefit' it would theoretically provide.

I'm just going to chalk it up to one of those things people do that I don't need or understand.

We have one releseller here. Embody is 1400€ with the options I need and Aeron is basically the same price but goes a lot cheaper used. I think I'd prefer the form and size of Aeron more but I'll have to test them out before purchasing. Feeling kind of jewed about the Aeron pricing.

The less echo/decay is immediately noticeable just talking in the room or clapping hands together. It makes for less fatiguing listening on some content and playing music loud is more fun. I like the effect and looks. It doesn't do a thing to room modes but in near field those aren't too dominant.

Yeah there's only one official distributor for HM stuff here and even used Aerons go for $300 less (I'm talking Aerons with 1999-2001 manufacture dates 'used') than the brand new one I got. Easily worth the 12 year warranty. Just tried having a look for it or something similar to no avail, if there is something being sold like this table then it's either on a really obscure site or some supplier that doesn't do direct consumer sales.

The dimensions are 1800 x 800 x 725 so many searching for desks similar may net you something you like better.

Just FYI the desk did not have the wooden vinyl on the top before, I did that myself. Pic related was how it looked before.
