I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

He's probably an Arch autist. You know... ppl who think that if they waste 2 hrs installing some shit BY FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS from some wiki and COPY/PASTING commands, they're somehow better than you.

They think that wasting your time on pointless shit is somehow important. They are mostly NEETs with no real jobs so taking care of their OS and constant babysitting gives the purpose in life.

Just ignore them and feel sorry for them.

Yeah, it's more polished than MATE and it actually works.
>>
>>56516496

>>
>>56516480
I'm not the one with issues ("mobile site lags while scrolling"), I'm just pointing out why it's an issue.

The site loads 5 MB of data, images that are basically photos as PNG. Not only that, also tons of JavaScript. It's not a surprise that weaker computers (such as cheap mobile phones) will struggle when scrolling on that site. And that is just horrible web design. But I don't blame them in particular, it's something that unfortunately is the norm these days.

Nope. Due to how package managers work everything requires a password, as it doesn't differentiate whether you're downloading a hard drive formatter or an app that makes a cow say something on your terminal

I'm hoping Snap apps finally deliver on giving Linux a proper app store. It would be a nice way to bring up consumer adoption.

Look closely at the top left corner of the terminal window. Do all the windows have shitty artifacts(or whatever) like that? I like customizing Os's but when they have weird side effects like that its fucking ugly.

That's the best you can manage to create a round corner using the X display server. Don't worry, modern distros are migrating to Wayland and coming soon to Ubuntu is Mir.
