So I'm in the market for a new video card and I read reviews of the RX 480 saying that the MSRP was $200. I can't find the thing for less than $230, and that's for the slower 4GB model, not the 8GB model blowing up benchmarks. Looking at price/performance graphs on my usual sites are all fucking screwy because they're using MSRP, not actual prices.
I was looking to spend $200, but I'm wiling to go $250 if there is enough of a performance boost to make it worthwhile. What are the best buys for those two price points? Doesn't matter if it's AMD or nVidia.
Or should I just wait - will these cards be any cheaper in the future?
Read the sticky of this board carefully.

Okay. That is my last AMD product.
Those idiots do it again and again.
There is no competition between the two anymore. AMD makes low-end cards for people on a strict budget, Nvidia makes high-end cards for people with extra money that want a system that can get the job done. If you're not into gaming and want a dedicated GPU, get AMD, if you're into gaming get Nvidia, there is no competition, they are two separate vendors with completely different target audiences.
