Considering the SATA interface of the laptop in question maxes out at ~600-700MB/s you're obviously using the RAM as a cache as that's the only thing with the bandwidth for those speeds on that laptop.

It's just disingenuous, if you want to use certain programs you can set aside huge chunks of RAM to act as a cache for even a normal HDD, with crystaldiskmark only doing 1GB I could just set aside a whole GB of RAM for my HDD cache and get whatever results my RAM would get.

Does that mean my HDD is just as fast as your SSD now?
