when i was living in the dorms at my university (one of the largest in the country) i had to have the university IT people come to my apartment at least once a month to verify that my computer wasn't infected with [insert arbitrary worm here]. i had to call them to get them to unblock my PC every other week as well because apparently VPN usage triggers their antivirus and blacklists my mac address.
