If you put a 1080p phone into a cardboard vr, you can see the pixels due to the magnification, so more pixel density means a clearer image in vr, it also means that you can get better video game graphics, and watch 4k movies.

there's no way to effectively correlate pixel density and eyesight since they operate on different principles

you can attempt to do it using some EXTREMELY rough approximations using angular resolution but applying that type of measurement to the eye is really not a good reflection of how it works.

not if u want to use your device for VR, then you need atleast 4k for 720p image quality, if you want 1080p u need 8k (but thats not realistic by todays standard as of yet). There will be decent 4k phones coming out next year.
