i am a HIGH PLACED, APPLE ENGINEER. I worked on the iPhone 7. We discovered in our drop test result that 80% of phones did not survive 3 drops on concrete from 3 feet without shattering. The design team was told from HIGHER UPS, that improving drop survival rate was NOT A PRIORITY, and that we were NOT to improve it.
