To those who've created their own linux distro:
How long did it take?
How many hours per-day did you spend on it?
Are you continuing to update/manage it?

I wish to know these things as well...
>how long did it take
A few days to get a usable desktop
>how many hours per day
a few, its less doing complex things and more waiting for shit to compile.
>Still managing it
Nope, I would rather just use any other distro.
>>56486208
So you made a pos and decided to give up on it?
>>56486225
No, I never had any intention of using it as a daily driver. Just wanted to see how it was done.
>>56486263
Why wouldn't you want to use your own distro as your daily driver?
>>56486342
because one man programming every convenience you'd want in a distribution is the work of madmen, ie TempleOS
>>56486342
I would if it was easy but it's very tedious work for no benefit.
>>56486448
Well you could use it as experience right?
Something to put on a resume.

Except if you use GNU Guix, which is a separate package manager to cut the maintenance.
I got to the part where I had to install systemd[ick] and I switched to freebsd
