ITT We mourn/celebrate O L D A P P L E

I got given a company 6s and thought the design was a little nicer than I first thought after actually holding it. Then my mum got a refurbished 5s in white recently and the 6 just doesn't compete. The polished and squared off edges looked fantastic and felt a lot more 'premium' than the newer devices. The 4 was probably my favourite design wise.

Seeing the 7 as this plain slab of metal just seems so boring especially from Apple.

sure some things have changed since then, but I really mourn for the early to mid 2000s apple. You know back when the WWDC crowd actually cheared and was excited, back when they became dominant and showed their power and clever design for the first time.

old iOS skeumorphism was kind of tacky desu, although their redesign was really half assed in other ways
shit on the flat meme all you want but it has a really nice "generic" feel about it that kind of hearkens back to the functionally machine-like interfaces of old while not looking overly nostalgic, plus it's a little easier to design consistent software for on paper
