Why do AMD CPUs have lower declared max operating temperature than those of intel. For AMD its usually 65-80, while intel has it at 100.
Are there any objective reasons for that, or its just a way of avoiding warranty obligations towards 12 yo XXXTREME GAYMER overclockers?
>>
>>56454489
AMDs start throttling at 75.
They can't even reach over 80, physically. That's an architecture limitation.

Intels are literal housefires.

Depends what series of AMD chips are talking - a lot of their mobile chips and APUs go much hotter than what the fx line does. In fact fx chips really, really need to be kept cool.
>>
>>56454489
Because AMD is complete shit, can't handle any serious heat without crumbling.

Architecture differences.
Numbers of transistors different.

Fuckin different architecture and fuckin different insulation. AMD uses silicon on insulator, that's why the CPU can handle 1.5+ V with no problem at all.
You fucking piece of darkest pooloo's shit.
Try giving your little i7 1.5 fucking Volts. Then shove it up your ass and whine like a little girl

> Shoving a cpu in your ass

Seriously mate? That's possibly the worst advice I've ever seen anyone give, why you would EVER want to put a cpu up your ass is beyond me.

Only ram may enter the anus - this /g/ has proven.

AMD and intel have entirely different fab methods.

Intel's can take more heat, but it is fairly weak against voltage. AMD on the otherhand, can take far more voltage (We're talking up to 1.5v easily), but is weaker against heat. Their larger die size though assists in helping to disperse the extra heat, so its more of an issue of having the capacity to reject that heat.
>>
>>56456068

This is why power draw does not equal TDP.
>>
>>56455648
Thanks for proving my point?

AMD is awful shit that can't handle any kind of heat without crumbling.
>>
>>56455648
Why would you want to give the i7 1.5 volts when it already outperforms any AMD CPU aviable at stock? butthurt AMDrone.

I have no longer AMD CPU. My last one was an FX6300 that i sold for a 3770.
I just hate everyone shitting on AMD for no reason
>>
>>56456350

I don't think you understand where you are. /g/ has nearly reached /v/ levels of stupidity in regards to computer hardware.

Hold on bro, summer vacation are ending nearly everywhere

Why does Skylake have like 10C less max temperature than Haswell?

>Why does Skylake have like 10C less max temperature than Haswell?

Different core design and smaller gates/transistor
>>
>>56456547

/g/ is dying for actual content and discussion without the help of summer.

>>56456350

Good buy. A new 6300 goes for around the same as a used 3770, sometimes the intel costs more depending on where you are.
>>
>>56456660
Thanks. I managed to sell lucky FX+970UD3P (the CPU did [email protected]) for 120€
I had a spare h77 board that was literally new and i said: why not?
I paid 100 yuropoor for the 3770 and got a very very good boost in everything.
>>
>>56456707

I got a FX6300 for free from a computer that didn't start. Turns out it was fine, the owner had just cut the power button switch. Upgraded it a little and slapped an R9 280X in there and sold for quite a profit.

Later on, in a quite similar manner I got my hands on a 3770. Computer didn't work, turns out one RAM unit was borked. Didn't get to take the whole computer so I just took the memories and CPU. Got a shitty non-proprietary connector motherboard for it (that's why I didn't take the old one) and put a R9 390X in it. I had two but since I'm trying to get rid of them, it was a perfect place to put it in. Sold that computer too for good money.

The 3770 was an amazing find, it kept up with my 4690 easily.
>>
>>56456068
So intel is water type and AMD is grass?
>>
>>56456758
I like your way of make business.
I also had a 280x under the 6300. Now my 3770 has it. Really enough for what i am playing.
I am wondering if the difference is high enough to switch from 3770 to 6400 + z170. I don't think it's a intelligent move.
Probably waiting for zen/used 5820k
>>
>>56456301
Sorry the truth hurts
>>
>>56456613
good. let us die and become a slow board. Then no one will want to wait for their shitty threads to be bumped. Lazy, impatient asses won't be drawn here anymore. we need a consumerism board

If you want your own autistic hugbox, just head on over to reddit
>>
>>56456886
In all respect, I'd really rather not. I don't like them.
I'd rather put up with whatever I need to around here than sit in threads with most of them.
I just want here to get better
I just want things to get better
>>
>>56456820

6400 will get you literally worse performance. The CPU isn't bottlenecking you one little bit, remember that people are still rocking 2500s and doing fine. Considering the 6600 is pretty much equal to the 4690, and the 3770 performs identical to the 4690, and the 4690 is better than the 6400, it would make no sense to pay for worse performance.

I wouldn't even bother with kaby lake/zen, maybe after that. Or maybe if you're running something like a 1080 or twin 1070s. I would just personally put my money on a GPU rather than upgrading to a mediocre cpu.
>>
>>56456983
Thanks bro!
Inwas thinking about the 6400 because of
>muh blck OC
But with possible microcode injection in win update i am sure jews are gonna jew now or then.
I think i'll probably go for the 470 at this point. More performance compared to my 280x and 50% less power consumption. I think this or the 480 are my best shots ATM
>>
I don't know but my FX8350 started throttling at stock clock speed of 4.2 (with turbo)while using the stock cooler that was a loud as a jet engine.
>>
>>56455981
>>56456249
the shills are literally bots now
