So I've decided I want to learn front end development as a hobby, and have since learned some basic html/css/js.

My question is, how do I practice these skills without any actual content?
I know about CSS Zen Garden, but are there any other things I can use without having to type out pages and pages of paragraphs?

Restyle existing sites or find local nonprofs who badly need fresh design and do it for cheap.

I think I knew someone was gonna say something about restyling existing sites, just needed concurrence. My only issue is that not all sites use the standard modern convention for modulating html/css/js.
Did think of the nonprofit though, think ill research a cause i believe in with a shit design and offer to do it for like minimum wage per hr.
Thanks for the idea :)

Thanks friend<3
Make a mirror of The Last Psychiatrist blog, shit's dormant and might go dark. Some great blog posts with images and comments. Keep it minimalist

Seems like a good idea, but curious, why that site in particular?

Bring them up to standard modern conventions, then.
I'm a back end dev but I can say that if you're doing this to turn it into a career eventually, you'll be swimming through a lot of "legacy" code that doesn't conform to any standards. You may even write some yourself.
Get a cheap VPS
buy a cheap domain
Screw around with it
