Yeah, they don't license their magsafe connector technology so the only other chargers out there are cheap unlicensed knockoffs.
The charger itself is a really solid piece of equipment, but the cord is just absolute shit. I have seen some kind of protector you can put on the charger to protect from wear at the seams though.

macOS is a unix-based system with access to tons of great tools for creative work (photo/film editing, digital painting / design work, music etc.).
It's like the perfect system for getting shit done. Plus you can install linux on your mac as well if you need it.

I have a fuckton of 30 pin cable I fished out of tangled balls at the thrift store, and they're all fine. And even if they're damaged like op's pic, they work without issue.
