I just switched from an AMD graphics setup to nvidia. Clean install of windows 7 and i could swear that the text isn't as clear as before.

I did the cleartype wizard and still i feel like it's more difficult to read (it is subtle though).

Is this a known thing?

Why would you wipe your system to install hardware and a driver for it?

ClearType is shit. Use MacType or GDIpp (if that's still a thing) if you care that much about fonts.

Have you enabled full range RGB? Nvidia's shitty drivers still default to limited.
