Debian Testing :)
That's fucking stupid to differentiate Ubuntu from its flavours.
Linux nub currently using Mint as my first linux distro and I'm interested in something less bloated and maybe a bit closer to source.
Is it possible to use a distro like debian, gentoo/funtoo, or fedora and make install software from git repos instead of using binary packages?
Is there a benefit to using alternatives to apt and ppa:s?
How do I update kernels and keep up with source repositories like git to make a rolling release?
Did I fall for any ebin /g/ linux memes?
>>56435254
most people use windows, so it is very likely that most unemployed people use windows.
And as all the anti linux threads on /g/ is evidence that you need to be smart enough to read to use the system, I find it very likely that some of the people who use linux is able to find a job.
>>56435569
they are different so why not differentiate?
openSUSE Leap
>>56435619
The DE is different, not the distribution itself.

Every distro in the poll is more used than Gentoo. It's only a shit meme
Mint + Xfce
>>56435031
i started out using Slackware, then switched to Debian when Sarge was released, and when Jessie included SystemD i switched to antiX which is basically Debian Jessie tweaked to run without systemD, i could have just fixed up debian to run without systemD but i am getting lazy and have other things i want to do than to hack around on operating systems
I've been distro hopping all week since I finally fell for the thinkpad meme. I'm on Deepin right now and I'm pleasantly surprised. Its the first distro where steam has worked out of the box too. No deleting runtime libraries and stuff.
I thought I was gonna hate the osx-ness of it but you can just put the dock in classic mode to make it look like Windows xp style

Generally question:
>How many people use Linux on their PC? (As end-user and not as server or something.)
I just wonder because Mint is always on top on distrowatch.com and here the most are using Arch. How many are using Arch as daily driver for example?
Xubuntu
