Is there a reason to buy something better than the cheapest case?

Good removable dust filters
Masterbox 5 (CoolerMaster) is all you need.

I have this case. its the best case Ive ever own and its more than reasonable. I've bought 3 of these cause they are cheap enough to mod too ;)

I bought a shitty no name case from some online vendor in China. It's been good for quite a few years now

sometimes you want more space for extra GPUs
sometimes you want a transparent case so you can show off your autism

Depends a lot.
Some people want something that looks a certain way.
Some want it to have some kind of feature like filters or space for X size radiator, hotswap bays, etc.
Some also require shit like redundant power supply mounts or rack rails.
Think of a computer case less like a car and more like a truck.
A car will bring you from X to Y no matter if it's a shitbox or a luxury sedan but if you need to carry certain things in a certain way a truck metaphor is better (ex: carrying frozen food on a refrigerated container or carrying fuel from the refinery, etc).
Hope this silly example was good enough to explain why people sometimes buy certain cases. It's all about user case.

Man I don't know the side windows look like: "Oh hey look at me I have fancy nerdy shit ohhhhhh."
Hard enough to get laid as it is.
It's almost guaranteed to look like plastic shit and I've cut myself on the flimsy and cheaply manufactured aluminum parts of cheap box I bought once. Bearing in mind that cases don't really go obsolete or otherwise cease being functional often and how you'll be stuck looking at it for years, there's not much reason not to get a half-decent one.

Is the one I posted half decent in quality?
Aesthetically I don't really care, it looks fine to me.

side window is normal autism tier
check out this beautiful example of advanced autism
(side note: i actually kinda like this case

At that point you really must enjoy it so it's fine.

Don't use my case as bait

cheap cases might rattle. I got a fractal design r4 and this thing is solid and tight. not strange noises emanate from it. the r5 isn't as good, btw
i got an older HP case, and i like it. it's neat and clean looking, not riced out, and looks decent in my entertainment center. i dont need a lot of bells and whistles for my stuff. pic related.
