Both are botnet.
Make your own cloud.
>>56421108
owncloud
>>56421108
I get 1TB with OneDrive thanks to Office 365, so I'm using that.

id' rather not have my own pc running at all times, and being limited to whatever my upload speed is
>>56421147
I don't have anything to hide.

Dropbox doesn't give me enough space thankfully my university gives us "unlimited" storage in a Box account.
Drive is great for group projects and Google photos is saving me right now for photo storage.
I know it is botnet but I lost all my photos to a corrupted hard drive this year including several of my grandmother who passed away last November.
I can't risk that again so Google Photos will be circulating all my photos from now on.

Doesn't have to be your main PC.
There's very silent, energy consumption, low price alternatives.
>buy cheap fractal case.
>mini itx atom based board.
>cheap ram.
>buy wd reds because cheap.
>install linux
One third of the price of a Qnap NAS with similar amount of drive bays.

Got 1TB free from Google for reviewing some stuff. So Drive it is. Better phone implementation too

other anon here.
what kind of software do you need to install on it?
i need some kind of cloud i can access from my phone as well.
how expensive it is total, and how reliable? also can you build such own cloud on passive cooling so its not loud?
>>56421258
I'll try to migrate to GDrive then, any idea if my files in Dropbox would remain there after I uninstall it and then move the contents to Google Drive's?
>>56421276
You mean that Dropbox folder on your PC? Yeah that remains after you uninstall
>>56421294
I mean, the files in my cloud after I uninstall and delete the Dropbox folder on my PC. In case I want to go back to Dropbox
>>56421305
Yeah of course, that's why they call it cloud storage. The stuff remains on Dropbox's servers as long as you don't delete your acount
>>56421332
Alright. Thanks.
Can you use multiple google accounts for Google Drive?
>>56421271
Check these two, both work great and have different strengths.
>freenas.org
>openstack.org
Since I like lan based stuff I go with freenas instead, it's easy as fuck to work with and beats any comercial nas out there to the ground if you make the box yourself.

>without the salts, it's near impossible.
Sure it's real, but the leaked passwords were hashed.
>>56421343
In fact you just can Set up like 3 different Accounts to have 3 seperate Drives for example One for school/work stuff , One for Personal things and One for porn
>>56421215
I understand the convenience of Google photos but don't say that you know it's botnet and give the excuse that you had a corrupt hard drive. There are plenty of alternatives for backing up files.
