tablets.

They do. Asus had the x205ta last year (they have a new one now), hp makes the stream 11. Acer has one too. Lenovo as well, though theirs is shit. I think Dell has one iirc. So yeah, they still exist, and they're better than ever, though you can't really run Linux on them (bad drivers)

Any one without that horrendous chiclet keyboard?

Because no one bought them because they were always shit.
From a personal perspective, I can touch thumb to pinky across that tiny plastic toy. And had to type with 3 fucking fingers on each hand. I felt classy as fuck typing pinky out.
>>56417551
Because they actually weren't comfy as fuck
They turned them into Chromebooks
net books would of been great idea if proessors where faster clocks and ram got to 4gb or better
a 1.6ghz atom with 8 cores was not fast enough
or good enough it also run really hot.
but that was years ago not sure the story with netbooks now.
My question is why did it take so long for laptops to get good?
is it the power issue still the problem, or heat?

A tablet that can deal boot windows and Android with a detachable keyboard seems to be what you need.
I have an old netbook and they are slow as hell. Even with an ssd and ram upgrades. Modern tablets are better in every way.
>>56417551
but they do
im using one right now.
>>56418266
>A tablet that can deal boot windows and Android with a detachable keyboard seems to be what you need.
these are nice in theory but in practice they're really shitty because most implementations are top heavy as fuck or gimped in some other way that hampers their portability
also windows on a touch screen without a fine tip stylus is fucking garbage

How about those sub 9" Windows tablets? They seem pretty nice. Many include a keyboard.
>>56417551
Because they were trash and Steve Jobs specifically shat on them with the iPad
>>56418295
That keyboard looks terrible.

I want this.
>>56418984
Hope you got $2000 spare cash in your pocket plus import cost.
>>56417551
Cuz they make 10in tablet convertibles.
>paying extra to not have a keyboard
LOL
>>56418829
>not even a low end low power gpu
>ddr3 ram
dropped
>>56418646
So get one with a stylus.
Top heavy? Yeah and old netbooks are bottom heavy.
>>56417551
chromebooks
>>56417551
But they do. The king of all netbooks is the 10.1" 1920x1200 Panasonic Let's Note RZ5 with an admittedly non-netbook price to boot.
