Ipod for car stereo

do you know how it connects to your stereo in the car? is there just the ipod connector, or is it some kind of standard audio jack?

I'm not too familiar with that, I connected a standard AUX cable once (3.5mm audio jack to some ISO audio "AUX" input)

I am wondering if there is a way to format a usb thumbdrive to read like an ipod. I pretty much just leave it in my car so I dont care about a screen or audio jacks, ect.

Just buy a couple old ipods similar to yours on ebay, you know they will work and are cheap to replace i assume

Search for an iPod classic on eBay or amazon, they have a ton of storage and should be dirt cheap.

The 6th gen with the touch screen should be cheap because many got their 1gen replaced by apple for free. Most radios that connect with iPods use the ipodsimple protocol, but sadly it have not been ported to android (got a nice headunit that I wanted to work with my phone)

I have tested that up til iOS 7 (later versions should still have it because it is liked with it docking protocol) work no mater what hardware it is (can be I phones too) so maybe grab a cheap 3gs
