/g/entoomen, I think it's time to retire my current system and make a new build.

I was planning to jump from my old x58 setup to an 2011v3 one.

I need at minimum 8 mechanical HDs slots since I run raid 0 + 1 (and raid 0 on 2 old corsair SSDs I have for the SO / software).

After searching a lot I found out about these beQuiet dark base 900 and they seem fucking awesome for what I wanted and they will fit a supermicro motherboard.

Should I go with this or there's better cases that can fit an E-ATX motherboard with enough space on for 2 120mm noctua towers and a shitload of HDs?

If I could store 10 or 12 It would be even better because I do plan to retire my 1tb WD blacks because they are a bit old now and I'm really scared all this stuff will crap itself soon.

Pic is a diagram of the case in question, it's 100% modular which made me like it a lot since I can play around and maybe even fit my old panaflo fans in there with some work.

I have seen some fractal cases that could store a shitload of HDs in the front with still some decent intake but they were all mid tower or some shit which means they could never fit a dual socket motherboard.

I also didn't want to get any caselabs shit because it's too expensive and retarded.

Is this too much of a special snowflake situation where I may need to just make a little nas box with the HDs and them update my setup or I can find something to cram all these HDs and the motherboard?

Right now my system is a phantom 630 because it was cheap at the time and it could handle a dual 1366 socket mobo I got for free from work many years ago.

>TLDR
BeQuiet Dark base 900 for dual xeon and tons of HDs or another kind of case?

Whatever you think is coolest.

Virtually anything that is able to hold that many HDDs and that large of a motherboard is going to be the same: A giant, good quality, sort of expensive case that moves air.

If I can offer any advice, consider something a bit more mature and modern. The BeQuiet isn't bad at all, but maybe something like the H360 would be more aesthetic.

I prefer this case, it's pretty lightweight and isn't too too pricy.
See if what you're planning will fit in here; if so, I'll give you the link.

I checked that one in the store too, I was just scared if it would be able to cool everything up.
My phantom does get toasty sometimes when I render stuff since I got no AC in my home.

Anyways it's cheaper and it doesn't have the stupid window from the bequiet one which is a pro to me (my mobo is some green ugly shit so it wouldn't even look good anyways).

I will look for some reviews about it, as long as it can take the motherboard and hold at least the 8 drives I need and the sytem stays cool and nice I'm good to go.

Also not going to watercool anything I'm not good at these things and I like leaving the PC on for months without having o touch anything.

One more thing I don't really care about how loud it is because when I set it to render I just open the windows set the fans to the max and leave the room.
