It's cheap and it seems to be pretty good.
Should I buy it?

I got the 8TB + 4TB version, had them for a year now. They are good for storage i guess, go for it.
Depends on what you download, not 2TB is not infinite storage.

Why are WD's drives more prone to failure than HGST's when WD owns HGST?
>>56405322
Post the one from 2015 faggot

They operate independently more or less

Fiat owns Ferrari but they aren't the same.
Basically it's about manufacturing standards and what's their target audience.

I have a 3TB from the end of 2014 that's still going strong, surprisingly.

Blackblaze didn't even buy any more Hitachi drives since the first edition of this graph came out, they literally just renamed Hitachi to HGST which is misleading because the 3.5" manufacturing lines went to Toshiba
Toshiba must be shitting their pants about now because WD took ownership of Sandisk right after they signed a 50/50 supply agreement for Toshibas stackable NAND
WD is literally playing 5D chess and seagate/sandisk/hitachi/toshiba just got run over in two moves
