Looking for inspiration, go!
I've mostly written bash aliases and shortcuts, and a few small scripts that backup stuff on my desktop to my home server

My own image viewer.
For Linux I don't need it, but the windows viewer is so fucking horrible (doesn't even have support for EXIF rotation).

It's usually some web scraper that automatically downloads some shit
Rather than doing it myself I spend an hour writing a script that does it, end up tossing it somewhere and forgetting about it. Then when I need it again I rewrite the whole thing anyways even though the old version works perfectly fine because autism.

>script that found flacs or higher bitrate mp3s of mp3 files and replaced them with it
>script that made dropbox accounts through tor and linked it with a virtual machine to gain referrals, no longer works as they probably changed something
>multiple 4chan scrapers/downloaders, had one that watched for new images posted on any board and displayed them in real time
>scripts that found random images from randomly generated urls on sites like puu.sh
>script that downloaded wallpapers from places like leddit/tumblr/deviantart and changed them in some interval
>scripts that downloaded pron from some websites that had some viewing limit
some stuff off the top of my head, although most of them are gone or not functioning anymore
might be a nice learning experience, but in the end I never feel happy with the code I wrote, it always feels ugly in some way
>gtk app to make .desktop files easily
>linux driver frontend for controlling my razer keyboard
And some other small projects for learning
