Small, cheap, portable, 8 hour battery life, libreboot, tailsOS on a USB stick, 8gb RAM and wireless N wifi, great laptop keyboard.

Only thing I can think of, is the cpu is slower then anything else I own. Even my phone.

What other reason should I not get one?

or just get a x220. You can have 16Gbs Ram, a disk and msata SSD, there are parts available everywhere, you can get i5 or i7. Extended batteries are easy to come by and they get you up to 9 hours and if you need it you can even have a slice batter with that and make it go 20hours.
Whatever you get, always go for the IPS screen, TN screens are shit.

I got a T430, planning on installing a samsung ssd 850 evo, and anotehr stick of 8GB of ram for dual channel.

I'll be using what OS my school recommends, hopefully linux, but if it's windows 7 or 10?
